The Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students (BASICS) is a program consisting of approximately 3 individual sessions and is available to sanctioned or self-referred students. BASICS is designed to provide students with a judgment-free environment in which they can examine their drinking behaviors. BASICS incorporates motivational interviewing techniques that foster productive communication and collaborative relationships.
